Dr. CaIvin Johnson, PRESIDENT

You can start college with roaring success. How? By enrolling at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff and becoming part of the UAPB Golden Lion’s pride. However, enrolling would just be the first step of entering into a tradition of learning for achievers. On UAPB’s launch pad to accomplishment, you can take advantage of well-rounded, useful education.

Formerly known as AM&N, UAPB is an 1890 Land-Grant HBCU and is Arkansas’ largest historically black university. For more than 138 years, UAPB educated our great grandparents, grandparents, parents, sisters, brothers, aunts, and uncles. So, it’s no wonder why it can be so natural to feel and know that, at UAPB, you’re among family in the pride.

If you choose to attend UAPB for your journey in education, that experience can be your ticket to achieve success anywhere in the world. With 30 programs for you to chose from as an undergraduate student, the sky is the limit. Also, there are Master’s degree programs, Associate’s degree programs and opportunities to earn certificates, and that’s not all.

At UAPB, your education can be in or outside of the classroom; it can be on or off campus.  You can learn while getting work experience through internships, co-ops and fellowships if you want on-the-job training before you graduate. Plus, you’ll have opportunities to get involved with research anywhere in the world through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Academy.

Even if you’re not sure about all of this classroom education stuff and you want to stay close to home, UAPB offers online courses and has extended campuses in North Little Rock, Gould and Marianna.

Just maybe you’re the kind of person who wants to have a little fun along the way. What better opportunity is there than at UAPB where you can choose to get involved with some of the 90 student organizations that include debate, music, theatre, and athletics such as football, basketball, track and volleyball?

With so many wonderful colleges and universities in Arkansas, your choice to become part of the pride of UAPB Golden Lions may be just the choice to help you create a better life for yourself or your family.
